Update from the KBV Board of Directors regarding Pickleball

Thanks to those of you who attended the June 15, 2026 Board Meeting to express your views on the pickleball issue. Your Board used the feedback from the meeting to develop a plan with which we hope everyone can live.

The plan is as follows:
The north (nearest the gate) court on Settlers Lane will be open for play for 30 days beginning Monday, June 22. No play on the south court will be permitted. The Board will review the feedback at its July Board Meeting and make adjustments if needed.

All pickleball in KBV will be required to be played using the “quiet” ball. At this time, we recommend but not require the use of “quiet” paddles as well.

The KBV HOA will provide quiet balls for use. They will be stored in a tub located on the court. Please return balls to the tub after play.

If this test is successful, the court will remain open. The Board will further reviewed in the Fall if necessary.  At that point, the Board will discuss adding an additional pickleball court on the south end of the Clubhouse tennis court when that court is resurfaced in 2027.

For this plan to succeed, we need the help of the entire community to police any violators by reminding them of the rules. Repeat offenders will be subject to loss of HOA amenities.

Kure Beach Village has two Tennis Courts.  Tennis Court one is located on Kure Village Way behind the Clubhouse.  Tennis Court two is located on Settlers Lane next to the water tower. Tennis Court two can also be set as a pickleball court. There is a portable pickleball net attached to the fence for owners use. Please reattach the net to the fence after use. The large gold Kure Beach Village access key allows entrance to both courts.
